One of the more interesting areas of carnival glass tumbler collecting is enamelled glass tumblers. These came somewhere in the middle of the carnival glass production era. What makes this area of collecting interesting, is a seemingly endless variation of decorations and blanks used for each tumbler. With the exception of the cobalt blue cherries and the "late carnival" tumblers produced after 1950's, some of the enamelled tumblers can be very tough to find. Cecil Whitley pioneered the enamelled tumbler research through publication of the "The World of the Enamelled Carnival Glass Tumblers" in 1985. Since then, more patterns have come to light, and undocumented patterns, such as the yet unnamed Northwood tumbler shown on page 4, continue to be found to this day.
