Fenton Glass Company, Williamstown, West Virginia, 1905 - present
Fenton is the only one of the original carnival producing plants that has survived to this day. The Fenton family has been producing beautiful glass for generations, at the same location on the banks of the Ohio river, right across from Marietta, OH.  Fenton was the first to begin carnival glass production, starting circa 1907, but the competition was not far behind.

Fenton continues to produce a wide variety of patterns, using many different glass types and techniques.
Although the majority of the early tumbler output seems to concentrate in colors of marigold and cobalt blue, other colors, such as amethyst, green, or white, can be found in some patterns as well.  Most of the tumblers produced by Fenton have accompanying pitchers, and were originally sold as watersets.

Carnival glass production also flourishes at the Fenton Glass Company today.  All of the reissues are clearly identified with the Fenton in an oval logo, whereas the old carnival was not marked in any way.  No tour to the company can be complete without visiting its extensive museum of vintage glass, glassmaking area, and the shop where many of the popular new patterns can be purchased.
